Oregon Math LeadersEvery year in early August, 100-200 teachers gather in Salem for the Oregon Math Leaders (OML) conference in order to improve math education in their classrooms, their schools, their districts, and across the state. In 2018, OML will be held August 3-4 with a theme of Mathematical Discourse: Communicating to Enhance the Student-Centered Math Experience.

Inquiry Outside the Cube Conference

This conference, sponsored by OCTM and Eastern Oregon University, will be held at La Grande High School on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 8 am to 3 pm.
The conference focuses on classroom and content strategies in the areas of math and science. Sessions are offered for teachers at K-12 levels. For non-students, the conference cost is $50 for OCTM members and $75 for non-OCTM members if registered by October 1, with prices $15 higher after that date. The cost is $20 for students if registered by October 1 and $25 after that date. Lunch, materials, and a keynote presentation by are included. PDUs and college credit are available through Eastern Oregon University. Please see this flyer for group rates. 57th Annual Northwest Mathematics ConferenceThe Northwest Mathematics Conference is one of the finest regional education conferences in North America. Each fall, the conference is sponsored by the state or provincial math teachers' council of Oregon, Washington, or British Columbia.
In 2018, the conference will be held in Whistler, British Columbia on October 18-20. Featured speakers include Tracy Zager, Annie Fetter, Graham Fletcher, Michael Fenton, Christina Tondevold, and Fawn Nguyen. You can apply to be a speaker here (deadline: May 4, 2018). Be sure to register early for best rates! Pre-registration for OCTM or other math association members is only $180 ($195 for non-members). |

The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics 2018 Annual Meeting was held April 25-28, 2018, in Washington, DC.
NCTM will also hold a regional conference in the Northwest this year! The regional conference is in Seattle on November 28-30, 2018. |
